FOCUS ON: ART DECO

The Art Deco trend has been growing back in popularity in recent years. I’ve seen it creeping into interior trends when researching my focus posts (Maximalism, Circles and Curves, Parisian, Pink and Green – there is Art Deco inspiration somewhere in all these posts). And so, I thought I should give it its own space.

As a trend I’ve always equated the Art Deco style with luxury and opulence. In interiors now you can see it getting a modern twist which combines Art Deco trappings with a more minimalist style. It’s all great! I thought I’d share with you some of the old and some of the new and some of the mixtures of the two. There’s also Art Deco pieces to give a little nod to the trend in your home without going crazy, the Art Deco mirrors are some of my favourite pieces, or a cushion or a light fitting could be more your style? Or go maximalist and go for an Art Deco wallpaper. The patterns are amazing! And the buildings are truly wonderful to look at too, I envy those people in some of those beautiful art deco buildings. There are also some examples of the Art Deco trend in graphics and invites and fonts and packaging for those designers out there. Maybe an Art Deco styled wedding for when big weddings can happen?
